Safety and scams to avoid
Brazil-Side Tour Upsell at Iguazú
Hotel lobbies and tourist offices in Puerto Iguazú
Some tour operators aggressively upsell Brazil-side tours claiming they are mandatory or included in the park entry fee. The Brazilian side visit requires a separate visa for some nationalities.
How to avoid it: Check visa requirements for Brazil before booking. The Argentine side alone (4–6 hours) is satisfying. Only do Brazil side if you have a valid Brazilian visa or are visa-exempt.
