Safety and scams to avoid
Metered taxi fraud near Soekarno-Hatta Airport
Tangerang arrivals hall and taxi rank
Drivers claiming to be "Blue Bird" or "Express" display look-alike uniforms and logos but are not registered. They tamper with meters or negotiate a flat rate well above the proper fare. The fake taxi rank is often directly alongside the legitimate one.
How to avoid it: Always book taxis through the official Blue Bird or Express App, or use Grab Car. The official taxi desks are inside the arrivals hall — do not accept any driver who approaches you before you reach the desk. Verify the number plate matches the app booking.
