Nampo, North Korea: travel guide
Nampo is North Korea's principal commercial port and a special administrative city on the Yellow Sea, about 50 km southwest of Pyongyang. The city is known for the West Sea Barrage, an 8-km tidal dam across the Taedong River estuary, a feat of North Korean engineering opened in 1986. Extended Pyongyang itineraries sometimes include a day trip to the barrage and port.
