Fujairah, United Arab Emirates: travel guide
The UAE's east-coast gem — the only emirate with coastline solely on the Gulf of Oman, nestled between the Hajar Mountains and turquoise water. Fujairah offers the UAE's best diving and snorkelling at Snoopy Island. The ancient Al Bidyah Mosque (c. 1446 CE) and mountain forts speak to deep history. Temperatures run 5–8 °C cooler than Dubai in summer, making this the favourite weekend escape for UAE residents.

Safety and scams to avoid
Dive Shop Certification Fraud
Dibba, Fujairah dive sites
Unregistered operators offer "quick dive certifications" or fake PADI cards to tourists who want to dive without completing proper training. Extremely dangerous in Fujairah's dive sites which reach 15+ m.
How to avoid it: Book only with PADI or CMAS certified dive centres. Verify certification number at padi.com. Sandy Beach Divers and Fujairah Adventure Centre are the most reputable operators.
