Safety and scams to avoid
Overcrowded Chapel Bridge Pickpocket Hotspot
Chapel Bridge and Old Town, Lucerne
The Chapel Bridge is one of Switzerland's most crowded tourist spots. Pickpockets work the densely packed bridge, particularly during tour group crossings when people are distracted by photography.
How to avoid it: Cross the Chapel Bridge with your phone already photographing from in front — keep bags zipped and in front. Be alert to unusually close crowds, especially around 11:00-14:00.
